Pole Position Sportfishing is located at the Bridge Tender Marina in beautiful Wrightsville Beach North Carolina.
We are within walking distance of some of the areas best restaurants and bars with lodging available right across the street .
When you arrive at the boat our crew will greet and help you with loading your food, drinks, and any bags you may have. We also reccomend you bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen.
A normal gulf stream trip is about a 55 to 60 mile run and takes us around 2 hours to get to the fishing grounds. Once the lines hit the water we will fish for the next 7
hours. The 3/4 nearshore trip (summer months) is about a 25 mile run and takes around 1 hour. Your fishing time is roughly 5 hours.
Upon arrival back at the dock be sure you have brought a cooler to pack all your fish in for your trip home.
The Pole Position is a custom built 57' Carolina style constructed by the legendary Captain Buddy Cannady and Captain Billy Maxwell. She is powered by twin 800 HP Cats that provide a fast and reliable ride to and from the fishing grounds. The air conditioned salon is equipped with everything you need to provide total comfort on your trip. We can accomodate up to 6 passengers with plenty of seating, a full head, and bunks if you need a break. The North Carolina waters off of Wrightsville Beach offer a great variety of sportfish. Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Mackeral, Sailfish, White and Blue Marlin are the normal target species.
On the buisiness end of things the Pole Position is equiped with top of the line electronics to help enhance our fish finding capabilities. We have all tournament grade Penn and Shimano tackle from 20lb to 130lb test and everything else it takes to have a successful catch. The crew is very experienced and knowledgable with many years fishing some of the best tournaments on the East Coast with some top honors to boot.
We guarantee that we will give our best effort to make sure that your fishing experience is a productive and enjoyable one. You just need to show up with your food and beverage for the day and be ready to catch some fish. LETS GO FISHIN' YA'LL!!!!!
